This dashboard provides a centralized view of your MongoDB Atlas costs, enabling you to analyze spending by project, cluster, SKU, and time period. Use this page to monitor cost trends, identify major cost drivers, and explore optimization opportunities with detailed breakdowns and filters.

Total Costs

Displays the total cost for MongoDB Atlas across recent months.

Monthly Breakdown: Lists cost by month in descending order.
Percentage Indicators: (If enabled) Compares current month to previous month.
Forecasting: Estimated cost projection can be included to assist budget planning.

Top Projects

Shows which MongoDB Atlas Projects have generated the most spend.

Chart Type: Donut chart based on total cost per project.
Hover & Click: Hover to see spend, click to drill into that project’s costs.
Purpose: Identify the highest-spending projects for further investigation or optimization.

Top Clusters

Displays the clusters contributing most to cost within the selected time range.

Format: Tabular, showing cluster name (e.g., M2) and associated spend.
Insight: Helps with cluster-level cost analysis and size tuning.

Top SKUs

Breaks down cost by SKU type used in MongoDB Atlas.

Chart Type: Pie chart with proportional cost slices.
Examples: Includes SKUs like Atlas Flex Instance, Atlas M2 Instance, and Credit.
Use Case: Identify which SKU types (or billing categories) are driving costs.

SaaS Cost Chart

Visualizes Atlas costs over time.

Period: Configurable (e.g., Last 3 months).
X-Axis: Typically set to Date.
Group By: Choose grouping dimension (e.g., Project).
Interactivity: Click bars to explore cost details by group and time.
Forecast Line: If enabled, projects future spend trends.

Controls and Filters

Period Selector: Choose from predefined ranges like "Last 3 months."
X-Axis / Group By: Customize how cost data is structured.
Filter By: Apply project/service/cluster filters for contextual analysis.
Display: Toggle between Top 5, Top 10, etc.
