Custom Dashboard

Overview

The Custom Dashboard feature in Mavvrik lets you design dashboards that focus on the metrics that matter most to your organization—whether that’s cloud cost breakdown, savings opportunities, or governance insights.

With Custom Dashboards, you can:

  • Tailor the layout to match your priorities.

  • Select from a variety of widgets, including charts, maps, and summary views.

  • Rearrange, resize, clone, and remove widgets at any time.

Widget Gallery

When you customize a dashboard and click + Add Widget, the Widget Gallery opens. It shows all available widget types you can add:

Widget Type

Description

Data Chart

Visualize detailed metrics and performance insights.

Geo Map

Display region-based insights using geographic visualization.

Overview

Display total spend with a breakdown by cloud provider.

Savings

Highlight potential cost-saving opportunities.

Summary

Highlight key metrics or trends at a glance.

Cost Governance

Highlight cost-governance-related insights (cost allocation, budgets).

You can add multiple widgets of the same type (for example, several Data Charts with different filters).

Add a New Dashboard & Customize Layout

Step 1: Create a New Dashboard and Add Widgets

  1. Navigate to Reports > Dashboards > + Dashboard.

  2. Enter a name for your new dashboard.

  3. Click + Add Widget.

  4. In the Widget Gallery, select the widget type you want to add.

  5. Configure the widget (filters, metrics, date range, etc.).

  6. Click Add to place the widget on your dashboard.

Repeat these steps to add as many widgets as you need.

Step 2: Rearrange and Resize Widgets (Optional)

Once widgets are added, you can adjust the layout to suit your needs.

Rearrange Widgets

  • Click and drag a widget to a new position.

  • Widgets automatically snap to a grid for a clean and consistent layout.

  • Overlapping is prevented to keep widgets neatly aligned.

Resize Widgets

  • Drag the edges or corners of a widget to change its height and width.

  • Make key widgets larger and reduce space for less critical ones.

Edit, Clone, or Delete Widgets

Each widget includes a context menu (three-dots icon) that lets you manage it.

  1. Locate the widget you want to modify.

  2. Click the three dots (⋯) on the widget.

You’ll see one or more of the following actions:

Edit Widget

  • Opens the widget configuration panel.

  • Update filters, metrics, visualization options, or titles.

  • Save changes to immediately update the widget on the dashboard.

Clone Widget (New)

Use Clone when you want a new widget that starts with the same configuration as an existing one.

  • Click Clone in the widget’s options menu.

  • A duplicate widget is created with the same settings (filters, metrics, visualization).

  • You can then edit the cloned widget to change only what you need (for example, switch cloud provider, change a tag filter, or alter the time range) without rebuilding it from scratch.

  • Cloning does not affect the original widget.

Delete Widget

  • Click Delete to remove the widget from the dashboard.

  • Confirm the deletion when prompted.

  • This action only removes the widget from the current dashboard; data and other dashboards remain unaffected.

Save Your Layout

After adding, arranging, resizing, editing, or cloning widgets:

  • Click Save (if manual saving is required in your environment).

  • In environments with auto-save, changes are stored automatically as you make them.

Your layout will be preserved for future sessions.

Edit or Delete a Dashboard

Beyond individual widgets, you can modify or remove entire dashboards.

Edit Dashboard

  1. From the dashboard header, click Edit Dashboard (or the equivalent edit icon).

  2. You can:

    • Rename the dashboard.

    • Add, rearrange, resize, clone, or delete widgets.

    • Modify existing widget settings.

  3. Click Save to apply your changes.

Delete Dashboard

To permanently remove a dashboard:

  1. Open the dashboard you want to remove.

  2. Click the Delete Dashboard option.

  3. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

⚠️ Note: Deleting a dashboard permanently removes its layout and widgets from that dashboard. This action cannot be undone.

Share and Favorite Dashboards

Share a Dashboard

You can share dashboards with specific users or with all users.

  1. In the dashboard list, locate the dashboard you want to share.

  2. Click the Share icon (👥).

  3. Choose individual users or enable the All users checkbox to share with everyone.

  4. Confirm the action. Selected users will now see the dashboard in their list.

Favorite a Dashboard

  1. In the dashboard list, click the star icon (⭐) next to a dashboard name.

  2. Favorited dashboards appear under Favorites for quick access.
