MCP Server

Mavvrik MCP connects supported AI clients to your Mavvrik tenant so you can ask cloud cost questions and receive answers based on your available Mavvrik data.

This guide covers what Mavvrik MCP supports, how to connect it various AI assist tools, and how to write effective prompts for cost investigation workflows.

Why this matters: most cost investigation today starts with opening a dashboard, finding the right filter, and manually digging through a chart to answer one question. MCP flips that — you ask the question directly, in the AI tool you're already using for other work, and get an answer grounded in your actual Mavvrik data instead of a generic response. The dashboard is still there when you need to explore visually; MCP is for when you already know the question.

This shows up differently depending on your role:

  • FinOps managers and engineers use this to get quick answers to specific cost questions ("what drove spend up last week?") without leaving their existing workflow to open a dashboard.

  • Admins set up and manage the connector for their AI client's workspace so their whole team can use it.

  • Anyone investigating a cost anomaly or spike uses this as a faster first step than manually filtering a dashboard, since the AI client can ask follow-up questions in the same conversation.
