Custom Integration

Custom Integrations let you connect Mavvrik to things that don't have a native connector — a specific email address to notify, or a secret/API key another integration needs — without waiting on a purpose-built integration.

Why this matters: think of it like the difference between a mailbox and a safe — a Custom Email integration is just an address Mavvrik can send to, while a Custom Credential integration is a secure place to store something sensitive that another integration reads from later. Picking the right one up front means alerts land where they should, and secrets never sit around in plain text.

This shows up differently depending on your role:

  • FinOps managers use Custom Email to get budget or anomaly alerts routed to a specific team inbox without waiting on a native Slack or Teams integration.

  • Platform/security teams use Custom Credential to hand Mavvrik a secret it needs for another integration (e.g. a GitHub token) without that secret ever being visible in plain text after saving.

Which one do you want? If you're routing a notification, alert, or report to an inbox, use Email. If you're giving Mavvrik a secret, API key, or token that another integration needs, use Credential.

Create a Custom Email Integration

You can create a Custom Email integration to send notifications, alerts, or reports to a specific email address (or addresses) directly from Mavvrik.

Prerequisites: you'll need permission to create integrations in Mavvrik, and the recipient email address(es) you want to send to.

Steps to create:

  1. Navigate to Integrations and click Create Integration.

  2. Enter a Name for the integration (e.g., "Finance Team Alerts").

  3. Add an optional Description to explain the integration's purpose.

  4. Under App, select Custom.

  5. Under Type, select Email.

  6. In the Address field, enter the recipient email address. To send to multiple recipients, separate addresses with a comma.

  7. Click Create to save the integration or cancel to discard it.

Once created, this integration becomes available as a destination when setting up alerts, budgets, reports, or other notifications in Mavvrik.

What this actually does: Mavvrik doesn't send anything the moment you create this integration — it just registers the address as a selectable destination. Nothing is emailed until you attach this integration to an actual alert, budget, or report.
