Configure Slack Integrations
Connect Slack so cost alerts, budget warnings, and anomaly notifications land where your team already talks — instead of getting buried in an inbox.
Before you start: you'll need permission to manage integrations/apps for your Slack workspace (a Workspace Admin or Owner, depending on your plan). The email method also requires a paid Slack plan — free workspaces don't support channel email addresses.
Mavvrik supports two ways to connect: email or webhook. Quick guidance on which to pick:
-
Email — faster to set up (no Slack App required), but only works on paid Slack plans and is tied to whichever channel generated the address.
-
Webhook — works on any Slack plan, and is the more standard integration pattern if you're already managing other Slack apps/bots.
Configure Slack Email Integration
You can configure Mavvrik to send notifications to a Slack channel using the channel's dedicated email address.
Note: Creating an email address for a Slack channel is available only on paid Slack plans.
Steps to Configure Slack Email
-
Open the Slack desktop application.
-
Create a new channel by selecting Add channels, or open an existing channel where you want to receive Mavvrik notifications.
-
Click the channel name at the top of the conversation.
-
Open the Automations tab.
-
Select Send emails to this channel.
-
Click Get Email Address.
-
Click Copy to copy the generated Slack email address.
-
In Mavvrik, open the Slack email integration configuration.
-
Paste the copied Slack channel email address into the email address field and complete the configuration.
Once configured, notifications sent by Mavvrik will appear in the selected Slack channel.
Important Considerations
-
Anyone who has the generated email address may be able to send messages to the channel. Treat the address as confidential.
-
Workspace owners and administrators can restrict who is allowed to create channel email addresses.
-
When external organizations share a Slack Connect channel, each organization may generate its own email address for that channel.
-
If Send emails to this channel is unavailable, contact your Slack workspace administrator to confirm your plan and incoming email permissions.
Configure Slack Webhook Integration
-
Create a channel by clicking "Add channel" or use an existing one.
-
Create a new app in your workspace by visiting https://api.slack.com/apps?new_app=1
-
Select the starter app option.
-
Enter the app name, select a workspace, then click Review app, create & install, and allow it.
-
Go to app settings
-
Activate the "Incoming Webhook" settings.
-
Activating it creates a new section to generate webhook URLs.
-
Click "Add New Webhook to Workspace."
-
Select a channel and click "Allow."
-
Copy generated URL and paste it in Mavvrik
